My 1st Indrajal Comics post Part 1
*********************
Indrajal Comics was a series launched by the publisher of The Times of India, Bennet, Coleman & Co in March 1964.

A total of 803 Indrajal Comics were published, excluding #123 and #124 which were not printed due to industrial strike action.

Each issue was individually numbered until 2 Jan 1983 when the editors decided to use a volume and number typical of periodical publications. Hence, #444 was identified as Vol.20 No.1

The last issue was #805 (Vol 27 No 8) Dara: The Jaws of Treachery (1990).

Hero:
1. The Phantom: Total 402 (Including all reprinted versions)- First issue #1 (1964), Last issue #V27N06 (1990).
2. Zorro: Total 1- Issue #37

15. Dara: Total 8- First issue #V25N43 (1988), Last issue #V27N08 (1990) –IT WAS LAST IJC.

Note:

1. With all above-mentioned comics, 22 miscellaneous comics were published: - First issue #33 (1966), Last issue #368 (1981).
2. I had counted the numbers of total comics by a hero - main tittle only. To find out exact quantity, one must check 2nd stories also. Many times the front covers were printed without any information about 2nd story hero. Many stories were printed in 2 or 3 parts also.

All credits for these 22 new scans go to Ajnaabi. Many many thanks to him.
Hope, this will fulfill the gap of regular IJC posts for sometimes.

Dear Prabhat,
Your effort in providing everyone these IJCs and AKCs is extremely commendable. Its keep the community avlive when several of the bloggers are keeping a low profile. I suggest that you change your blogger profile name as Prabhat's Books&Comics so that when you post comments in other blogs you people will visiti your blog. I think you have done fantastic work even befroe this but have not got enough recognition which you richly deserve.

Thanks again.

Sanjay: Thanks to you to provide information about these comics.

Grouchy's Comics: Thanks! I followed your instruction, first time in life changed name.

comicrazee! Thank you for header, beautiful work. I’m by nature an organizer, weak in publicity. You like it, it's the real publicity.

Hey Prabhat,

Thanks a lot for putting up all these comics. It's so rare to find comics on these characters elsewhere that it's like finding buried treasure. Keep up the good work. :)

You know, I am having a lot of fun with the comics posted; I have discovered these blogs relatively recently, and although I was a child long ago, I feel like a child in a candy shop. I am afraid that I am "wasting" a lot of time downloading comics and reading them; but it is like an addiction that is difficult to kick. Only one comics lover understands another - ordinary mortals never do.

The Bruce Lee comics you've posted - do you have an idea whether this is all that IJC published, or were there more? [By the way, there is some problem with the link for the second part of the two-part Bruce Lee story] IJC usually reprinted most of its comics except the homegrown ones like Bahadur and Dara stories; I wonder what was the source of the Bruce Lee stories.

Great going, and keep it up!

Tapas: Welcome! There are many more IJC still have to come. Please, download the list of IJC in excel format (from left top corner of this blog). Many answers of you question are there. The link of second Bruce Lee is working, may be mediafire was down. In “list” and “Comics collected from various sources at esnips” you can find alternative links of all IJC till today posted at internet. At esnips I uploaded all ever scanned IJC for convenience in 3 folders and update at least once in 15 days. At esnips there are bandwidth limitations per day, but there is no need to search old IJC anywhere.
