443 - The Space Invaders

A milestone Indrajal comics

443-1982-Flash-The Space Invaders

It was the last Indrajal Comics (#443, December 1982) with individual numbering system which was started with first issue in March 1964.

Each issue was individually numbered until 2 Jan 1983 when the editors decided to use a volume and number typical of periodical publications. Hence, #444 was identified as Vol.20 No.1. The front cover design was also changed, with the introduction of the distinctive Indrajal Comics banner. The last issue was #805 on 16 Apr 1990 (Vol 27 No 8). A total of 803 Indrajal Comics were published, excluding #123 and #124 which were not printed due to industrial strike.

Srikanth: Yes friend soon, we will have all these in English. Max 1 to 5 IJC I’ll not able to post (if someone other will not come forward). And this information is also based on active old contributors. I hope for last some IJC people will come forward, if I would not be able to find. It’s good news for us, two new contributors - VENKIT (with English) & Raj (with Hindi) came forward.

P.S. 50-60 more scans are ready, soon upload.

Let me clear to other visitors that you are talking about English IJC (may be excluding repeated version).

RAKESH: Welcome! All contributor friends are trying their best. Ajay didn’t like to scan ad. Pages, now he is also doing it especially for friends like you. Sometimes few ad. pages will be missing, pls bear it. It’s not easy task to find these today. Finding all pages version in good condition is ….. Hope you understand it. Most of you blame for over flowing IJC, some say in good sense, some …… What we (I & all contributors) can, trying our best. :)

There are many persons who have these in good collection can come forward with scans now or later. Some who don’t wish to share today, hoping they will change mind. Some don’t have opportunities to scan TODAY, I’m very hopeful about tomorrow. :)

The charm of IJC is not going to end after first round of posting.

But what I’m telling is based on information I’ve till today. I’m a hardcore optimist, hoping a brighter tomorrow. :)

Thanks Venkit & Prabhat for the good old, last numbered Indrajal. I like old numbering system of IJC, I still rememeber my disappointment when I first saw new cover design from #V20N01 onwards. Are the last indrajal #V26N8 and original IJC version of #26 The jungle patrol available online ?

Jyothi Kumar: Welcome! I felt the same as you. I was confused totally that time unable to understand what happened. The publisher without a notice at a sudden changed not only covers, but numbering system. Earlier when many new heroes were introduced or Indrajal became weekly, we (readers) were informed.

No friend, these are not available till today. Thank you for attracting attention about #26. I marked in list as available (1 and half years ago) & forget.
