  2. Prabhat,

Congratulations! Thank you so much. Thanks to the scanners too.

Life is short. We may not be able to change the world, but at least we can try to make life a little bit more pleasant for others. All these rare ICs take me back to my childhood. I have a two-year old child. I want him to experience the same joy and wonder that I experienced when I read these comics twenty plus years ago. Particularly because the current generation comics (like movies) are full of special effects and little substance.

I am sure you will hit the 100 milestone and even the zero milestone pretty soon. You will not be forgotten. When my son reads these comics I will tell him that they are from Prabhat uncle. Thank you for carrying the torch forward and for helping to pass it to the next generation.

Best wishes and a happy Republic Day.

  8. Congrats for the 100th post Prabhat! A lot of stuff here to read and absorb. The annual issue looks particularly juicy and can hardly wait for that one.

I sent you an email with a spreadsheet containing missing pages from issue 150 to 200.

I saw that I had an issue numbered 199 as "death house of hydra" but it doesn't appear to be so, looking at the deep woods site.

The Iron Python story exists there at this size (the first sunday stip size is 900x605 and glorious colors).

  18. Now I know the mystery behind the #199 IJC scan that I have. It is 199 in the TCP numbering scheme and not the real IJC#199. Sorry for the confusion.

  19. AJAY: Welcome! Thanks for your contributions. You had scanned & contributed my comics. But what you had done for Indrajal fans, it’s simply amazing.

  20. Anonymous: Welcome! Thanks for your contributions.
I’m hundred 100% agree with you. When we share sorrow it decreases, and joy increases. Nothing we bring with us, nothing will take. What we’ll pass generation to generation will remain here.

  22. The Skull Cave Treasures: Welcome! Thanks friend. :)))

Indrajal comics are love of millions Indians. Although these are based on strips, I started reading strips just 1 & half years ago.

Once I was very happy downloading these from others blog. I had some comics sent to others &forwarded to me by Ajay, I never write anywhere I read it. Always encouraged others to go these blogs & download. Once Ajay asked to forward his comics me for reading, none come forward. Some months later, due to various reasons when many stopped posting or started slow posting. As a visitor & hardcore fan of IJC, what difficulties I face, trying to eliminate. :)

In one hand these data (IJC) will be over soon, but if I was not posting such ways, neither speed of scanning new scans was increased nor new wave of posting was started. There are many who have nice collection, but only few have time to scan & share their scan.

Brother, friends are scanning for all, for themselves they have it. They wish it should shared with friends quickly, I also feel same because it’s not my property. And if there were mine, I had done the same. :)

There is another side of coin. If I’d go slowly, may be these would never be available as many friends (who are scanning) would lose interest, may be I also. One we all have to go, everything have it cycle. I’m clear plans what to post, may be some more will add in journey. Let see how long time & energy will permit me to continue. :)

I created this blog not for IJC. The name of this blog is Books & Comics. I love books, if other would active I’ll concentrate on these. There is long way to go, may be visitors will changed, but 1-2 years (min) I’ll continue.
If you are interested can tell you my plans:

    1. IJC (English & Hindi)
    2. All ACK –wish to make in this sense unique that blog
    3. Superman Hindi
    4. All Goversons Hindi –wish to make in this sense unique blog
    5. Zorro
    6. non IJC Phantom (other publications & strips) –wish to make in this sense unique blog
    7. Mandrake (Non IJC but Indian only)
    8. Some demanded comics by visitors (which will match with profile of this blog)
    9. Books (Ancient to modern) – I’m almost ready, just a little diverted for sometimes due to some personal problems.

Wish to read Mandrake non Indian comics & strips only. Bala ji had already done great job, my full faith & support to him. Even if he would like to post regularly, I could forward all Indian Mandrake comics with permission of contributors. Hoping soon I’ll collect my Diamond Comics, then with my scans too.

  39. RAKESH: Welcome, friend! I remember your demand about page to page post....... Now mostly contributors are trying to scan all pages. These scans are not coming serial wise, main reason is that many IJC are posted, mostly are missing ad. pages only. All contributors are interested to scan first - missing, half posted & damaged IJC. Hope you will understand.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Anurag: Welcome friend! Your support for this blog & me, I’ll never forget. You come forward with scans in very early stage. We (I, all visitors & rest contributors) are lucky that you are with us, who is making this blog unique with your priceless contributions.

  43. Prabhat, sorry for belated comments. Its really a fabulous post, seems you are the luckiest guy on earth as you are having such amount of time to devote for the blog and a wife to tolerate/allow such a time consuming activities.
Uploading all possible strips is not a easy task as one have also to sustain his interest in this monotonous work.
A great post indeed which will be considered as reference for downloading the strips.Wish you could also be able to do a similar work for Mandrake also.

    ReplyDelete
  44. CW: Welcome! Glad to know you liked the post. :)

I really lucky to have such good wife …… It’s not my work alone. I’m lucky always have many friends, always succeed to collect a good team.

May be free time I have less than many. Just 1 year ago I had 2 drivers. Now per day (2-3 days in a week) drive 400-500 km or come late.

Yes I’ve interest to continue this thankless job. It’s not tough to reorganize time. So I sleep just 1 hour less & try to minimize wasting time.

About Mandrake, let we all together help Bala ji. He has done already half work. I wrote all my contributor friends to send him Mandrake scans. Some I’ll forward myself. Good news for us, he is back in mood.

  49. I have to confess I remain just k.o. when considering the rhythm and contents of the posts so regulary put into your blog. But this one is even something different as seven decades of Phantom dailies and Sunday pages are available here… a real achievement and I underline it is so very kind of you to share with others all this material. No doubt this page is now a reference for the collectors. You may be pride of your work for them.

  50. Alain: Welcome! As I always say, a team gives a better result. This way wished to find these strips online, these were not available. So decide to post. Many selfless known & unknown contributors worked hard, and are working hard to gift us these gems. All credits to them only. I just recollected these with help of friends to make search easy. I’m not proud, but really being happy when someone find it useful. :)

  51. Hi all,

    fantastic post.

However, beware of the size of the latest stories (both Dailies [width = 525 pixels] and Sundays [width = 650 pixels]): it is ridiculously small (sorry).

BUT: they are available (for a fee, $15 a year last time I checked) as a width of 900 pixels [pretty good].
