Last Bahadur Comics
There is news Aabid Surti, the creator of Bahadur, is thinking about relaunching. I'm also eagerly waiting his return.
It's contributed by Venkitachalam Subramanian. All thanks & credits go to him.

Yes,Surti is planning to relaunch Bahadur as newspaper strip but not yet found proper sponsors.Hope he may get soon.
ReplyDeleteCW: My all best wishes are also with him.
ReplyDeleteThis was the last Bahadur published by IJC. In fact Bahadur pops the question to Bela, a la the Phantom to Diana. Bela accepts it, but then IJC closed shop.
ReplyDeleteIn fact Bela is her sexy best in this particular comic.
Hopefully when Bahadur comes out as a daily strip, someone will post those.
I think Bahadur's proposal to Bela was in order to "complete d circle" i.e.directing their long-termed affair and live-in relationship into d final destination:Marraige!! as I'm sure Uppalji(d writer) was aware this story(Snake charmer's bait)going to be LAST Bahdur by him...just a guess!
ReplyDeleteHow ironic! Bela says "I hope the magic never wears off". The magic wore off at least for TOI. But it burns brights in the hearts of the comic lover
ReplyDeleteI am printing IJC at 4.80 per page tom and will let everyone know the result!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Ever since I started visiting all these comic blogs, I've been waiting for someone to post this particular comic! Thanks so much Venkit and Prabhat! Also, is he planning to relaunch Bahadur again, or some other character? Maybe Bahadur's son or daughter?
ReplyDeleteVenkitachalam Subramanian: I think there will no problem with strips. I know at least 10 hardcore fans of Bahadur. :)
ReplyDeleteGrouchy's Comics: I also hope.
ReplyDeleteInDo MaNdrAkE: Welcome Sagnik! Really interesting thought. :)
ReplyDeleteKrishna: Not bad. I think if numbers of interested person would increase, it'd fall a little more.
ReplyDeleteadibud34: There was news in “The Times of India” dated 1 Jun 2008. I put a link of this page, but today it’s not reachable. According to article he is planning to relaunch Bahadur again.
ReplyDelete#Aditya/PBC: I had posted this article just in d nxt day of tht Original article, and thanfully had published some quotes from Original...so even if original write-up has been gone, you can find here:http://dara-indrajal.blogspot.com/2008/06/indication-of-return-of-first-indian.html
ReplyDeleteThere even Surti had talked abt Bahadur-bela's live-in relationship and I think in this LAST story, their "live-in" relation was kinda public and IMHO,it was well accepted!!:)
Btwn,Aditya...NOO!! Surti planning to bring back BAHADUR(& BELA,hopefully!!) and NOT his any sons/daughter...I think it'll be only good to project him exactly where he left...in 1990,,,i.e. in this current story!! :-)
Btwn, donno if anybody had noticed,BUT Bela was in her glam/hottie-best in form of tht mysterious NAG-KANYA!! ;-))
ReplyDeleteI have this book in physical form, but was very excited and d/l the scan...then read my own copy too....and for Nth time felt why ToI had to disconnect this GREATTTTT SERIES???
InDo MaNdrAkE: You are true. I read it first time in your blog, then searched & found in news paper too. By the way original news link (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/Review/The_Ghost_Still_Walks/articleshow/3089506.cms) is again reachable.
