These comics contain following comics:
1. The Phantom's Daily Strips #145 - Gooroo's Jungle Muggers (03-Nov-80 to 04-Apr-81)
Script: Lee Falk
Artist: Barry
2. Buz Sawyer's "The Secret Silver Mine.
Scanned and edited by Venkit. All credits & thanks go to him only.
I think Zaheer Bhai had a version posted on his blog in 2007 or 2008. I remember leeching those comics as part of the effort to have all 803 comics in digital mode.
ReplyDeleteNow I have broken all my bound volumes and am scanning all my physical comics in HQ. I will ofcourse be sharing them with you all thru this blog.
No politics. No backbiting. Just sharing.
Thanks Prabhat for posting them
Venkit: Such good intention of you to share your wealth with us, even going to the extent of breaking your bound volumes. I am happy to see our group growing with selfless attitude. Way to go, dude.
ReplyDeletePrabhat: Fixed the links to the downloads.
Hi,
ReplyDeleteReading all interesting mails,forwards, comments
for a while, no comments on that!! as Venkit said in the previous post, this is not a place to discuss..
Just one point I want to make , Please spare me
A comment made Such as " all the blogs are nothing without my scans" is a arrogance of highest kind!!! and frankly I don't give a damn!!! When I started Indrajal Comics club in June 07, only one blog was active ie, comic world apart from TCP. As far as CW was concerned, he always posted his own hindi scans along with its English counterparts.
When I started blogging, even then I had 250/300 physical copies in my possession but I already had them in digital form thanks to the "deal" I had with Ajay. I got 2 DVDs of scanned indrajals in lieu of dvds of
1) All phantom sun/dailies
2) all goldkeys, kings, charlton, harveys, wolfs moonstone
3) flash gordon bw daily strips from 51-58
and more
So,
It was a plain deal or exchange and nobody "helped" me
i had 250 odd ijs then, along with the scanned dvd. So, there was no point in scanning those again!!! I utilised that time posting on my blog with full credit given to the original scanner.
Any sane person would have done the same thing.
I stopped blogging because I was tired of arranging those scans on blog, upload it to mediafire, keep track of comments, reply them.
Let me clear one thing.. Anybody who thinks posting such scans is easy is a real fool, No, Its not easy, there are lots of pains behind it. Scanning of a comic is only the half part but the remaining part is equally important. I could not manage it, but the people like Cw,Prabhat, Tph have been doing it consistently for the last 3 yrs. Hats off to you guys..
Nobody is perfect,we all have our egos, attitudes
but thinking like this is arrogance!! treating others as "paon ki jooti"
Its now a open secret that I have full indrajal collection. from 1 to 803. you name it and i have it!!
If you need any comic which is not available, tell me.. I will try to scan it.. yes, i said "try"
finally, as i said earlier, I don't give a damn
If i were you, I would have followed this advice
regards
Sudhanshu
Loved your note, Sudhanshu. I completely agree with your thoughts on posting the scans on blogs.
ReplyDeleteI never get restless leg syndrome after I send the scans to anyone to post. The thing could be that I scan so that I can have a good digital copy of the old almost tattering comic. Sharing is just a benovolent side-effect. So I don't take it to heart when someone does not post the scans as soon as I send them. Who knows what might have prevented them from posting immediately?
My only plea is this - While on this common blog, let us all maintain decency and share thoughts only about the posted comics and its characters/authors/artists etc. All private wars can be done on your private blogs.
Thanks,
What an appropriate post for Sudhanshu to reappear - "The Missing Prince". :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat he said is quite an information for me. The exchange of DVDs between Ajay and him was a deal, and not a gift of love from either side, I didn't know that. :-)
Don't want to indulge in other matters. All the persons involved are mature and experienced. They are able to solve the disputes on their own. I only want to say one thing, friends, no one is really enjoying this state. Please don't drag the matters to such depth so that it becomes irreparable.
दुश्मनी जमकर करो पर इतनी गुंजाइश रहे,
जब कभी हम दोस्त हो जाएं तो शर्मिंदा न हों.
Thanks a lot Venkit and Prabhat for wonderful phantom and buz sawyer comics. File size is a bit on higher side and I think can be reduced to half without compromising on quality or page size. Please give it a thought.
ReplyDeleteTPH,
ReplyDeleteWhen we exchanged the DVDs,we hardly knew each other. so, it was a simple exchange and not a "gift" or "love" from either side. btw, This exchange took place in Aug 2006,
Since then I have sent my DVD( daily-sunday)to many friends like zaheer, sameer (who used this dvd as his primary resource to print ) without asking anything in return (not even courier charges). Infact,if I remember correctly,I had asked you once regarding this DVD.
Yes, I totally agree with you and Venkit, We are all mature.thats why I avoided to comment on any blog. but sometimes you have to clarify the things and end the matter once for all.
I use a software called batch image re sizer which reduces the size almost 50-75% with 85% scan quality, and believe me, there is no visible difference to the naked eye.
To reply your "sher"
ReplyDelete" Hum sharam se kyoun sharmayen
Sharam sharam se sharmati hain
Hum to bilkul hi be-sharam hain
Sharam hi humse sharmati hain" -)
Sudhanshu,
ReplyDeleteI remember very well you had made that offer, but I couldn't accept it at that time for the sake of maintaining my anonymity. And you didn't ask anything in return, just one of the things for I rate you as a true comic lover and a real gentleman.
In my previous comment I had first written about it but then deleted that part 'cause I did not want to appear praising you too much. You do not deserve praise after you left the community and did not return even after repeated requests. :-P
BTW, Is the offer still available? Just kidding. :-)
For file sizes, I usually convert big files into small before storing on HD. It saves my HD space by considerable amount.
Let me think for a suitable "sher" for your "besharmi".
TPH,
ReplyDeleteI'm blushing at the moment -)
You are the only person to call me a gentleman -)
I left the community because of dirty politics (just kidding)-)))) which is still going on (sadly true)
Offer is available round the clock for friends.
only thing is I do not deliver it to post boxes !!-) so, pardanasheen ko beparda hona pagega -)
Sudhanshu / ICC,
ReplyDeleteYou are a Gentleman. Can I now get a DVD gift too :)... by the way, hum kabhi parda pehne hee nahi, to beparwa beparda ko bhi kuch bhejiye bhaisahab :)
@ICC & TPH: Pls don't take each other words other ways. ICC put some words saying clearly going to close topic.
ReplyDeleteVery appreciated you TPH, came forward before I could contact you. Reason I see, only love for comics & your vision like me - long term good effect of this united blog if we succeed.
I had long conversations with the HELPER.
What he gives no matter getting money, exchange, and making profit - always use term HELP, GAVE etc.
What he gets in hand or by bank or from net, it becomes his personal property - that's why ICC said this way.
Let me open a secret: I’m one of the luckiest people at earth, who have some real friends like own brothers, and two closest person’s names are exactly same as yours. One is top level administrator and another is the owner of one Apollo hospital (not Delhi). They are friends before achieving above mentioned gaol & no change in behaviour until now.
That’s why I’ve special attachment with you both guys, even rarely chatted & wrote mails.
ICC, I can say from some last conversations with TPH, he has very good opinion about you.
Our goal is common, let go together or independent (it’s not important), doing what we can, when we can, which can give us and the visitors of our blogs happiness.
@About reducing size: In photoshop, it could be reduced very easily using auto action and saving as at value 8. Making an auto action is not tough task, however the result will be better than any other software.
ReplyDeleteI was sharing SR earlier, however stopped due to no demand. Pls tell me resolution you like, one more link with smaller size file will be posted always.
I understand the problem of the file size. But like I said, I am scanning just to get those treasures in a digital format to store for posterity (or is it prosperity?). I am scanning at 300 dpi (200 would suffice for a good quality). But the condition of some of the comics leads me to scan in a higher dpi rate. And yes, I am consciously cropping off the rather yellow borders.
ReplyDeleteSimilarly, I am not a photoshop user at all. I use the free Windows Live Photo Gallery. I have found that that is quite sufficient for this purpose. It does not have a reduction of size (or atleast I have not gone deeply into it). After the mishap in January, when I lost my collection, I am storing synchronised copies in 2 external disks also. And at the cost of hard drives, size does not count for file sizes (though it does for egos and p.....s, it seems).
I have always loved Sudhansu's comments when he used to blog. I still remember the rib-tickler about Rajanikanth, around the time his mega-hit "Sivaji" was released.
Like I said, I have never strived to have any personal friendships with any of the contributors or bloggers of the IJC community. It will prove disastrous when you have a fall-out (usually the reason is monetary) and then, like a jilted lover posting nude pictures of his ex-lover on the Net, they start washing dirty linen in public. Why go thru all that hassle?
Since ICC, TPH and Rafiq Bhai are all in the "shairi" mode (at least I was able to get them all into a shairi mode!), here is a small nugget from English -
It is better to keep your mouth shut
And let others think you are a fool
Than to let loose your tongue
And let others know that you are a fool.
There will be no more discussions on the various feuds from my side. Sharing of my comics will continue. Sudhansu, I might take you up on that offer to "try to scan any missing IJC".
Thanks for your patience.
@ Venkitachalam Subramanian: Regarding size reduction : Pls keep big size. I also bought 1 TB disk especially for keeping scans in bigger size.
ReplyDelete1. It's always easy to reduce, but when computer's resolutions jump higher, from small making good new resolution is tougher task.
I'll provide alternative size links for person concerned in good quality. Know how, don't worry.
2. Where possible, pls just keep borders around panels, rest area remove as you do. It's very easy to add extra area like books later.
3. Min 300 DPI is better option, even reduced size files pages look much better.
@Venkitachalam Subramanian: We are missing since a long ICC's unique humour.
ReplyDeleteHoping he'll think about our NEW application about returning back.;)
I wish I could get these high quality scans of this "Missing Prince" series... But seems the files are deleted from Rapidshare. Please... can someone re-upload these?
ReplyDeleteHR links are expired.
ReplyDeletePlease provide the new links.
Thanks
Bala
