177 (1973) The Robot Family

This Indrajal contains 2 Flash Gordon strips:

1. S120 - "The Roamer Asteroid Survivor" (4/2/72 to 6/25/72)
Artist: Dan Barry

The story: Back on Earth after their adventure in the Venusian jungle (S-119 Swamp God of Venus), Flash and Dale accept a mission to seek out a “roamer” asteroid on its way back into Earth’s range after eight years in a distant orbit.

Landing on the asteroid and its human-friendly environment, Flash and his crew try to locate the original settlers presumed lost in a meteor rain all those years ago – with unexpected results...

2. D2-060 - "The Solid Gold Bomb” (2/24/64 to 6/13/64)
Art: Dan Barry

The story: A tiny receptor carrying a priceless 100 billion watt solar-ray battery vanishes by accident during a high-security transport from planet Mercury to a power plant in New York.

Flying a cargo ship from New York to Tangier, Flash discovers a stowaway on his vessel, but is still unaware that his free passenger has the highly radioactive receptor in his possession and intends to sell its solid gold casing on the local free market - unless both ends of the casing are opened simultaneously and the H-bomb goes off...

It's scanned & edited by Venkitachalam Subramanian. All thanks & credits to him.

Flash Gordon:The Robot Family(Ijc #177)

UPDATE: d/l link has been provided....sorry for the delay.Between, another comic is coming soon! :-)
Although this Flash Indrajal was not among the 'toppers' of viewer's choice,I'm publishing it 'cos this particular tale has a real emotional aspect , besides the inherent 'sci-fi' charcteristic in the adventures of this Galactic hero, which touched me deeply ....hope visitors will feel same ! :)

Also,it's a 1st time I publishing anything on Flash Gordon! If some reader thinking I'm NOT a big fan of this blond-hero,he would be completely wrong ,allthough somehow I cudn't (to dedicate a post on him!).

Fact is,our most Indrajal fans aren't that close to Flash-adventures like they do for P/M/B,also there are only a few Flash-ijc on net which don't help(to make his stories more available)! :-/

I guess,ToI cudn't make much profit from Flash-ijcs lately & as a result they suddenly avoided to publish solely Flash-strips .Thus, after the
'The Vindictive War Deity(Vol.23 No.28 ;1986) ' there was a long gap (more than 2 years) before we cud see a solely Flash-ijc :'The Lost Continent(Vol.25 No.46 ;1988)'! Well, there were 3/4 Flash-strips were published as an inside-story with Phantoms in between....but that's it!

But after this 're-apperence' we'd seen as much as 7 Flash Indrajals & let me tell me,ALL are 'special' and very different from 'usual' adventures of this galactic hero(like Ming etc)!
Starting with that 'Lost Continent' or it's continuion part,'The deadly queen Mesala(Vol.25 No.51)' followed by prince Barin origin(Vol.26 N0.4 - a fascinating tale,my friend!!) or that LAST Flash in Indrajal,'The Deadly Intrigue(Vol.26 No.32)'[and the 1st Flash I brought, in 1989! ;o) ] where Flash team faced a deadly/scary situation in the Korobu -a planet ruled by women only....In short, each and every of these are SUPERB thrillers!

Now.....let's read this fascinating one! It's another A/V scan!
